Poll-Axe: political satire e-zine

This was a small-circulation political satire (paper) magazine, published in the 1990s and founded by Ed Young in Reading. It ceased production when Ed became too busy to continue it. Todd (who had written for Poll-Axe) tried to take it on then but, unfortunately, also became too busy shortly afterwards.

However, Poll Axe was an excellent idea and deserves re-launch.

Todd Congreve is considering re-launching Poll Axe in 2005 as an e-zine - that is an on-line magazine. There are no plans to re-launch as a paper magazine at present.

Todd will need support - stories, articles, cartoons, jokes and so on. Moreover, Poll-Axe will also carry serious political, social and economic comment and educational articles.

If this project interests you (there will be no payments - only kudos, sorry!) please send an e-mail to Todd with your ideas about Poll-Axe or tell him what you are able and willing to contribute.

At this stage, Todd is only looking for such early indications. However, if you have any previous writing or cartoons which demonstrate your abilities please e-mail copies to Todd. Please note: ensure you retain copies of your work. Todd cannot be responsible for safe-keeping of anything sent to him. (We're not that sure he's in any way responsible, actually!)

Todd says: "Approaches are welcomed from anybody, from anywhere in the World. The e-zine will be British-based. But in these days of globalisation that doesn't matter at all. In fact, the wider international involvement, the better."

And remember: You Know when you've been Poll-Axed!
